Quake!
I was rudely awoken at 5am this morning, by the violent shaking about of my bed.
And the talk of the hostel this morning is the 5.6 magnitude Earthquake that hit northern Panama! It's epicentre was only about 10km from Bocas Town, and the way the room shook, I'm amazed that nothing fell down and no one was hurt. Even though earthquakes can cause so much devastation, I've kind of always wanted to experience one, and this was the best way to do it - no one was hurt!
It was surreal, I woke up to the bed shaking back and forth, and saw that Javi and Ciaran were both awake too. Ciaran was awake before it started and he said the shaking started off small and then got bigger and bigger, and also that he thought it was me rocking the bed! I caught the latter end and it was surreal. I think I would have been more scared if I'd been more awake!
